This is the opening dream-sequence montage that I edited together for a movie adaptation of an Appalachian folk tale, Jack and the Doctor’s Daughter. However, it’s much too long to post on YouTube (76 Minutes). The two sequences were meant to illustrate the transition from the Roaring Twenties to the Great Depression. All footage taken from public domain archives dating from the opening decades of the 20th century. The music is from the band Rachel’s. The songs: All is Calm and Handwriting. They seem to be understanding folks. (And my attempt to send them a copy of the DVD failed; it was lost or misplaced, and I haven’t gotten around to mailing another.) (For the curious this represents over 30 hours of editing work. Whether that shows or not.) Enjoy. Let me know what you think.

Actualy the name of the band comes not from rachel Grimes’ name but from an old model of Honda. And I also think it’s Nobles who wrote this song from the sea and the bells.

I think it’s fantastic! You couldn’t of choosen a more perfect band. Rachel Grimes is the best.

magnifique. une musique et des images à rendre melancolique les blocs de béton. travail artistique tres brillant, en depit d’une tristesse qui peut rebuter certains.
